Tucked away in an alleyway, Velvet Room was born out of a nostalgia for the 1940s-1950s. It is a sophisticated Jazz & Piano Champagne bar, where you immediately feel welcome and at home. The friendly staff are always ready to serve you a chilled glass of Champagne/Cava/Wine and a selection of other beverages. Add that to the cozy ambience of fine Jazz tunes, broadway hits and the gentle sound of the piano, you find yourself immersed and mesmerised in a room filled with love and abundance. Who is Yodé?
Yodé Olubajo, the owner and creative force behind the Velvet room, is a flamboyant personality, who enjoys nothing more than bringing joy and a smile to the faces of the people he encounters. He is legendary for his many worldwide themed parties over the years.
Born in London, he was raised in Lagos. Then, he returned to the UK to complete his education. He has since lived in Venice and currently lives in Barcelona. He speaks English, Yoruba, Italian and Spanish. Yodé’s passion for creating the Velvet Room stems from the wonderful memories he had frequenting a piano bar in Mykonos. He often took to the stage impromptu and entertained the guests.
Whilst living in Venice, for several years, he organised a hugely popular, yearly boat party, where he performed cabaret to the rapture of the international crowd, many of whom, were regular attendees.
He has extensive experience in the delivery of unrivalled customer service, having spent almost 28 years in the airline Industry, working for one of the best known brands as a Cabin Service Director.
However, as much as he thoroughly enjoyed travelling the world and meeting people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, his ultimate dream was to bring together his vast knowledge and experience, and create something original here in the city of Barcelona.

Meet the versatile Argentine artist, renowned for his exceptional jazz and swing performances. A masterful trumpeter, he captivates audiences with his distinctive style and passion, pushing the boundaries of creativity in the Argentine music scene.
We are a musical duo made up of Sandra Ortega, a stunning vocalist from Barcelona, Spain, and Kadija Teles, a talented pianist from Brazil. Representing the identity of our two cultures and blending genres like jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and more, we’ve taken our music to many corners of the world — always earning the love and admiration of our audiences.
Giovanni Ghizzani (b. 1988) began playing piano at a young age, studying at the Siena Conservatory. Drawn to jazz, he graduated with distinction from the Siena Jazz Academy. In 2016, he joined the Jazz Department at the Bologna Conservatory under the mentorship of Gregory Burk. In 2021, he pursued a Master’s degree at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, studying with some of the leading figures in Spanish jazz.

Rebecca Houlihan is an Irish vocalist based in Barcelona, known for her powerful, emotionally rich performances.
Her sound blends soul, pop, R&B, and heartfelt ballads, delivered with stunning vocals and deep expression. Whether soaring or subtle, her voice carries a rare emotional honesty that resonates with every listener.
Rebecca draws inspiration from legends like Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Yebba, Nina Simone, and especially Celine Dion—artists known for their soul-stirring presence and vocal depth. That same spirit shines through in every performance she gives.
She’ll be joined by Manu Contrera, an accomplished pianist from Uruguay, whose sensitivity and musicality beautifully complement her voice. Together, they create an intimate, moving live experience that lingers long after the final note.
